I need help pls about water breaking?

with every time i read my book i get more confused anyway i leaked a lot of fluid 2 days ago but i still got sent home to come in 2morrow for a scan. in my maternity book she wrote that my urine was nitrite positive and that there is traces of protein in it. now my question is what does she mean when she said that it was nitrite positive? i am only 23.4weeks and i dnt want to believe that my water is gone
