I want to buy samsung epic but i'm worried about that it's made out of plastic so should i buy it?

I love mine and it's holding up just fine. The main problem is the battery doesn't last very long. And I have no idea how much it will cost to replace. Btw, my gf has an iphone and they feel about the same.
