My Windows Millennium Edition has a major hard drive problem. Help, please!?

One day i turned it on and the power outlet smoked. Now it won't turn on normally and a message comes up, "Hard drive integrity check indicates a failure." The computer does not turn on normally; its on the setup menu. I have a Gateway E-4600 and Windows Millennium Edition, and i have the setup cds that came with the computer.
