Property taxes , how can we get rid of it?

If I buy a car I pay the car price and the taxes for it and that's it. I have my car. I put an insurance ,a tag , gas and with my driver's license I am ready to drive. Same with an appliance, clothing etc. I pay the product plus tax and that is it. It is mine. I don't have to each year pay taxes for that product. But wait a minute, if I buy a house that costs thousands of dollars , and I happen to pay it in full plus taxes , the very next year I have to pay taxes again? and if I don't repay the taxes that I already paid I will lose "my" house??? The government is putting in danger my property and according to Locke any government that puts in danger, my freedom , my life, or my property I have to go for revolution. What is wrong with my country. We went to battle for tea taxes and not for property taxes??? Some one clarify my thoughts; please tell me how can you let the government get away with it?
