Does anybody know for sure how squmous cell cancer of the lung reacts to chemo?

We have 2 spots on her right lung diagnosed as squmous cell. I need to have an idea of how well the cancer will shrink before surgery. Hopefully alot. Any experience with this? Preliminary ct scans show no spreading yet. PET scan to be yzed later. MRI of the brain clean.
