I am looking for info on an artist/warlock named Vandecarr - spelling? - from Miami, FL in the 70's. Anyone?

This guy was sort of an urban legend sculptor who was famous for his "occult" style. He lived, to my recollection, on Miami Beach in the 1970s. I would love to find out anything on him - and if he is still around.
